Any experts on Enlightenment and 2012?

My Husband who is not a religious person, was not on drugs, came to me last night and it was so random but he was talking about enligtenment and 2012 and a bunch of randomness and Im trying to understand his views and what he believes it just freaking me out he started crying a man that never cries!!! He was basically saying that were going to another place not heaven but another world and everyone is going to be happy and loved and at peace. Can anyone shine some light on what he was talking about??
